When a company transfers an employee, the household move is a separate job from the office relocation. The employee is moving a home, not a workstation. The company wants the move done professionally, documented properly, and billed cleanly. That is what employee relocation is built for.
The company arranged it. The employee needs to live through it.
We communicate with both. The company gets the documentation, the billing, and the accountability. The employee gets a full-service move that respects their home and their timeline.
Moving an employee's household to or from LA.
Los Angeles draws employees from companies across every industry: entertainment companies relocating production staff, tech companies transferring engineers from San Francisco or Seattle, financial firms bringing analysts from New York, aerospace and defense companies moving specialists. When that transfer happens, the employee's entire household needs to move, often on a fixed start date and a company-set relocation budget.
Royal Moving & Storage handles employee relocation moves to and from Los Angeles, whether local or cross-state. We work with HR teams, facilities managers, executive assistants, relocation management companies, and the employees themselves. Full-service packing and moving as standard, itemized invoicing for reimbursement, direct billing to the employer where required, and transparent pricing before the move begins. USDOT #3617767.
Six elements that a company-sponsored relocation move typically includes, and where our service goes beyond a standard moving job.
Full-service packing and moving
Company-sponsored relocations typically include full packing. The employee does not need to box their own home. We pack, load, transport, and unpack at the destination. A complete household move handled end to end, the way a relocation benefit should work.
Cross-state and local delivery
Most employee relocations to LA are cross-state: from New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, or Austin. We handle the full interstate move under USDOT #3617767, with a delivery window the employee can plan around. Local transfers within LA are also handled.
Storage during the transition
When the employee's new home is not yet ready when the lease ends at the old address, climate-controlled storage holds the household contents between locations. Common in employee relocations where start dates and housing availability do not align perfectly.
Itemized documentation
The employer needs documentation: an itemized invoice, a clear cost breakdown, and records sufficient for reimbursement processing or direct billing. We provide the paperwork the company's accounting or HR team needs without requiring the employee to chase it.
Dual communication
We coordinate with whoever is managing the relocation, whether that is the HR team, an executive assistant, a relocation management company, or the employee directly. Both the employer and the employee stay informed throughout without either having to relay messages between them.
Flexible billing
Bill directly to the employer, invoice the employee for reimbursement, or split as the relocation package specifies. We accommodate the billing structure the company has set up, not the other way around.
Whether the company or the employee is arranging the move, the process is the same. Clear quote, clean execution, proper documentation.
01
Quote and scope
HR, the employee, or a relocation manager contacts us with the move details: origin, destination, household size, timing, and billing preference. We provide a transparent quote with the full cost up front.
02
Schedule and coordinate
We schedule around the employee's start date and housing timeline. Storage is added if there is a gap between the old lease ending and the new address being ready. Both the company contact and the employee are kept in the loop.
03
Pack, move, deliver
Full packing at the origin, careful loading, transport to Los Angeles or from it, and delivery and placement at the new home. The employee arrives to a household that is already set up.
04
Invoice and close
Itemized invoice issued to the correct party, billing settled according to the company's relocation policy. The documentation the company needs is provided without a separate request.
When the employee arranges their own move without guidance, the company pays for it later.
Self-arranged relocations produce incomplete documentation, unpredictable costs, and reimbursement disputes. A professionally managed employee move avoids all of that.
Self-Arranged Employee Move
The reimbursement headache
Employee collects receipts from multiple vendors and submits a disorganized reimbursement claim
Costs come in above the relocation budget, creating disputes about what the company covers
The employee is distracted by logistics during the weeks before a new role starts
Service quality varies by whoever the employee happened to find, with no accountability to the company
Storage and timing gaps not coordinated, leaving the employee without their household for weeks
Royal Employee Relocation
Clean, documented, done
One itemized invoice issued directly to the company or to the employee for clean reimbursement
Transparent pricing up front so both company and employee know the total before the move begins
Employee's move handled professionally so they arrive focused on the new role, not the logistics
Licensed and insured under USDOT #3617767, providing accountability the company can rely on
Storage and timing gaps coordinated so the household arrives when the new address is ready

Relocating an employee to or from Los Angeles?
Tell us the origin, the destination, the household size, and the timing. We provide a transparent quote and handle the rest, including documentation and billing in whatever format the company's relocation policy requires.
1. Can the company book the move directly, without going through the employee?
Yes. HR teams, facilities managers, executive assistants, and relocation management companies contact us directly to arrange employee moves. We work with the company contact to quote, schedule, and bill the move, while coordinating directly with the employee on the logistics of their household. The company does not need to relay information through the employee to manage the booking.
2. Do you work with relocation management companies?
Yes. Relocation management companies (RMCs) that manage employee household moves on behalf of their corporate clients can book through us. We provide the documentation, invoicing, and service standards that RMC programs typically require. Contact us to discuss the specific requirements of your program.
3. What documentation do you provide for reimbursement?
We provide an itemized invoice showing all services and costs, a bill of lading for the shipment, and any additional documentation the company’s accounting or HR team requires. If the employee is submitting for reimbursement, the invoice is formatted to make that process straightforward. Let us know at the time of booking what the company’s reimbursement process requires and we will make sure the documentation matches.
4. What if the employee's new home is not ready when they need to leave the old one?
This is a common situation in employee relocations, particularly when employees are starting before they have found a permanent home in LA. We move the household into climate-controlled storage and hold it until the new address is ready. The second move from storage to the permanent home is planned at the same time, so the whole logistics chain is handled by one team.
5. Can you also handle the company's office move at the same time?
Yes. If a company is relocating both its office and multiple employees’ households, both can be coordinated through us. The corporate relocation handles the office and the employee relocation service handles the individual households. Both can run under one corporate account with consolidated invoicing if that is the company’s preference.
