A Small, Dense Gateway City Where the Block Sets the Plan

Huntington Park covers just three square miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. It still holds nearly 55,000 residents on that footprint, making it one of the five most densely populated cities in California. The streets are narrow, and the parking is tight. A large share of the housing is older walk-up apartments and small single-family homes built before 1940. Roughly three out of every four residents are renters, and household sizes run high. The commercial heart of the city, along Pacific Boulevard, draws steady traffic from the city and the neighboring Gateway Cities.

That density is the whole shape of a Huntington Park move. The distance between addresses is usually short. The work is everything between the truck and the door. Most blocks have no driveway access for a moving truck and no loading dock. The street parking fills early. Many of the older apartment buildings have no elevator. The truck has to be sized to the street, and the parking has to be reserved in advance. The carry path has to be planned for stairs and narrow doorways.

Royal Moving & Storage works in Huntington Park and the surrounding Gateway Cities often. Before quoting, we walk through the home, the building access, the stairs, and the parking. From there, we set the truck and crew, pull the city permit, and coordinate with any building manager. The day runs smoothly from the first box.

Our Moving Services in Huntington Park

We offer a full range of moving services tailored to your schedule, budget, and relocation needs:

local moving icon

Local Movers

A move within Huntington Park, or over to neighbors such as Bell, South Gate, or Maywood, is short in miles but shaped by the access. Narrow streets, walk-up buildings, stair carries, and Pacific Boulevard traffic all set the pace. We bring a truck sized to the block, reserve curb space at the address, and plan the carry path before move day. Local moves come at one transparent price, agreed before any loading begins.

residential moving icon

Residential Movers

A two-bedroom apartment in an older walk-up, a small single-family home on one of the residential blocks, and a townhome closer to Pacific Boulevard are all Huntington Park addresses, and each calls for its own plan. The apartment needs a parking permit and a stair carry. The single-family home needs door and floor protection in a building that may be eighty or ninety years old. The townhome may have stairs across multiple levels. Each address gets a walk-through and its own plan before move day.

commercial moving icon

Commercial Movers

Pacific Boulevard runs nearly two miles through the center of Huntington Park, lined with independent bakeries, boutiques, eateries, bridal shops, and small retail, alongside the larger employers in nearby Vernon and Commerce. When one of these businesses relocates, the lost trading hours are what cost the most. We schedule the work around your operating hours, evenings and weekends among them, and get your team set up at the new address quickly.

long-distance moving icon

Long Distance Movers

A relocation out of state earns the same care here as a job across the Gateway Cities. You get an assigned crew, a written inventory taken on site, a price held firm from booking, and a delivery window to plan around. The crew on the truck at pickup is the crew you see at delivery, and none of the work is handed to a broker. Huntington Park households moving across the country get a move they can rely on.

furniture moving icon

Furniture Movers

The mix in a Huntington Park home runs from older case pieces and bedroom sets to newer sectionals and dining sets, plus the everyday items that come with a household of multiple generations under one roof. Each item is wrapped, padded, and strapped down before leaving the room. Thick moving pads, stretch wrap, floor runners, and door jamb guards are standard on every job, and they matter in older buildings with tight stairwells and narrow doorways. High-value or breakable items get their own handling plan, agreed with you up front.

storage icon

Storage Services

Huntington Park moves often come with a gap: a lease that ends before the next unit is ready, an apartment building under renovation, or a family relocation handled in phases. We secure your belongings in a climate-controlled storage facility and return them when you are ready. You set the schedule, whether that runs a few weeks or several months.

Why Huntington Park Residents Choose Royal Moving & Storage

Transparent Pricing, Set Before We Start

The size of your home, the access, the stairs, the parking situation, and the distance of the move all factor into your quote before we begin. The price quoted at booking is the price you pay at the close, with no surprise fees added on.

One Contact From Start to Finish

The same coordinator runs your move from the first call through the last box, holding your building, the access details, the permit, the schedule, and your inventory on file. No call center will be cycling you between agents.

A Reputation You Can Check

Our reviews on Google, Yelp, and the BBB are open for anyone to read. Read through them, and the same handful of points keep showing up: the crew arrived on time, treated the home and its contents with care, and held the final bill to the quote.

Licensed and Insured

We operate under a California moving license CAL-T 191476, and each job is backed by cargo and liability coverage. If your apartment building, your HOA, or your landlord requires a certificate of insurance before move-in, we have it ready before the day.

Justin and his team were extremely professional and took care of literally everything. Moving can be stressful but they made my move stress free and seamless. I recommend them to absolutely everyone if you’re moving.
Gerald and Clayton came to the rescue! There are no words to thank them enough. Single mom of 2 under 3. They handled everything from tear down, loading, dreadful upstairs unit and reassembly. I never felt alone for one second. First time in a very long time I didn’t feel alone. They turned a very emotional day into a party. These men are an asset to your company. True gems!! Thank you so much from my entire heart.

Justin's team was highly efficient and professional. Justin packed extremely well, every item is organized perfectly, wrapped like it just came from a department store. Their team is extremely kind and respectful of every item packed and moved. They had an entire 800 sq ft packed up in a few hours and in los Angeles within an hour and a half. Would highly recommend their team for future moves.

These guys were amazing. They were communicative, friendly, fast, and did a stellar job when they had a total of 3 flights of stairs to navigate in triple-digit heat. If I could give 1,000 stars, I would!

Contacting Royal Moving & Storage, getting my estimate, and actually moving was very seamless. The movers were part of the A+ team, for sure. Sai was very responsive to all my questions and needs, and I referred my daughter to Royal Moving also. The final price was exactly as estimated, and it was great compared to other movers I contacted. I would definitely use Royal Moving & Storage for my future moving needs.

We hired them for our recent move and had an amazing experience!! Peter & team were fast, friendly, and professional. I've used a couple other companies previously that weren't nearly as careful and scratched walls, broke things, or destroyed my plants, etc. This move literally all of my stuff arrived in perfect condition, not a single scrape on the walls of our new place, and they had a cart for my plants and treated all ~10 of them so carefully that there wasn't even a single bent leaf. We were really impressed with them and would highly recommend to anyone.

Contacted Royal after American Van Lines failed to show up. My overall experience with Royal was outstanding. From the initial call with Faye I immediately felt comfortable using their agency. I cannot express my deepest gratitude for the service that they provided. We were on a time crunch and needed to be out soon. Faye set up the impossible- movers arrived the following day. They were on time, provided top notch customer service, disassembled our furniture, wrapped everything carefully and removed everything. They delivered our items 2 days later and did a fantastic job setting everything up in our home. Bravo Royal. I can guarantee that I will refer you when anyone who asks for a recommendation. If you are looking for movers- I would only trust this company.

Daniel and his team were nothing short of fantastic! On time, professional, and personable. These guys made us laugh - no complaining, great mood, even when my wife and I were getting tense about what goes where; they diffused our attitudes and kept the smile on our faces. Let's be honest - moving is stressful! Royal Moving made it enjoyable (is that even possible?). They came recommended from a friend who had used them twice previously, so we knew we were in good hands - but we were pleasantly surprised by how great they were! I would absolutely hire them again! Thank you, Royal Moving! You made a tough day so much easier.

Getting to Know Huntington Park

How Huntington Park Sits

Huntington Park is an independent city in the Gateway Cities district of southeastern Los Angeles County. It sits about eight miles south of downtown Los Angeles. It covers just 3.01 square miles and holds about 54,883 residents. That gives it a density of around 18,200 people per square mile, making it the fifth most densely populated city in California. Because it is its own city, Huntington Park sets its own rules on truck access, oversized vehicles, and permits. Those rules are separate from the City of Los Angeles. City hall sits on Miles Avenue. The council-manager government runs its own police department and city services.

Pacific Boulevard is the commercial spine. It runs nearly two miles north-south through the center of the city and is lined with independent bakeries, boutiques, restaurants, bridal shops, and small retail. Slauson Avenue, Florence Avenue, and Gage Avenue cross east-west. Interstate 5 runs along the eastern edge of the city. Huntington Park borders Bell to the south, Vernon to the north, and Maywood and Cudahy to the east. To the west lies the City of Los Angeles neighborhood of Florence-Firestone. Walnut Park, an unincorporated LA County community, sits immediately south of the city limits. It is often treated as part of the broader Huntington Park area.

The housing stock skews older, with about 27.7% of units built before 1940. The city is overwhelmingly renter-occupied, with about 72.8% renters to 27.2% owners. Households are large, averaging 3.5 people per housing unit. That reflects the multi-generational and family-centered character of the city.

From Streetcar Suburb to a Latino Cultural Center

The land was home to the Tongva people. During the Spanish era, it sat within the holdings of the Lugo family, with Francisco Salvatore Lugo among the first European arrivals to the area. The modern city took shape in the early 1900s. Henry E. Huntington’s Pacific Electric Railway extended its streetcar network into the southeast industrial belt of Los Angeles. The new community grew up along the line as a streetcar suburb for workers in the rapidly expanding factories of Vernon and the surrounding area. It was named for Huntington. It was incorporated as its own city on September 1, 1906.

For much of the twentieth century, Huntington Park was an almost entirely non-Hispanic white working-class town. Dust Bowl migrant families made up the core of its residents. From the 1960s onward, large-scale immigration from Mexico and Central America reshaped the city. The newcomers were drawn by the older affordable housing and the established industrial jobs in Vernon and Commerce nearby. Today, Huntington Park is roughly 97% Hispanic or Latino. Pacific Boulevard, once a postwar regional shopping district, has become one of the most active Latino-owned commercial corridors in Southern California.

What a Huntington Park Move Really Involves

Huntington Park is an independent city, so a move here works under the city hall rather than the City of Los Angeles. For larger moves, the city issues temporary no-parking permits that reserve curb space at the address, arranged and posted in advance. On streets this narrow and this densely parked, the reserved space matters. It keeps the truck close enough to the door for the carry to work. Pacific Boulevard and the surrounding commercial blocks add traffic and stop-and-go through the day. Many of the smaller side streets are also tight for a full-size truck. So we right-size the truck to the block when we plan the move.

The housing is the next factor. A large share of the buildings here are older walk-up apartments, small single-family homes, and small multi-family buildings built before 1940. Most have no elevator and no loading dock. Stairs and narrow doorways are the rule rather than the exception. The older finishes call for floor runners, door jamb guards, and careful handling. Multi-generational households are common in Huntington Park. That often means more furniture and more items per address than the size of the unit might suggest. We size the crew and the truck for the actual load, not the square footage on paper.

The industrial neighbors matter too. Vernon and Commerce sit immediately adjacent to Huntington Park. The corridors that connect them carry heavy industrial truck traffic at all hours. We time the route accordingly. We handle the permit, the building coordination, and the truck size before move day, so nothing slows the job once the crew is on site.

What a Huntington Park Move Typically Costs

Huntington Park moves carry cost variables worth planning for: older homes with stairs on compact lots, dense apartment buildings with limited loading access, and tight permit parking along the busy retail corridors all affect crew size and time on the job. We factor all of it into the quote we give you upfront, so the price is clear before you book. The ranges below are typical starting estimates for a local Huntington Park move, and your exact price is confirmed before booking.
