Moving companies with solid reputations, like Royal Moving, stay busy. So, we recommend that you schedule your move as soon as you know your move-out and move-in dates. It is very important that you contact Royal at least two weeks before your move, but two months is even better.

No, Royal Moving’s professional moving crew and trucks are prepared to move during the worst weather conditions as long as it is safe. Royal is equipped with supplies to keep your belongings safe from most weather conditions.

If your moving day is approaching and you know that you will not have your items packed by the time the movers arrive, inform Royal Moving as soon as possible. Royal can work with you to come up with a backup plan. Royal can either help you pack your belongings or push your moving day in some cases to give you more time. However, both of these solutions will probably add to the cost of your move.

We do not require a deposit to reserve a crew. You will be responsible for the full payment once the move is done. On long-distance moves, we collect 50% at the pickup and 50% at the drop-off.

Yes, labor represents the entire cost of the move because Royal charges an hourly rate. That hourly rate includes packing supplies such as shrink wrap, blankets, and tape, as well as fuel expenses and other charges that you will often find on your bill when using other movers. There are no hidden fees with Royal Moving; just one flat hourly rate for all of the work you need Royal to do on your moving day.

The best way to keep your moving costs down is to be as prepared as possible when Royal’s movers arrive on your doorstep, reducing the time your move will take. If Royal Moving is not packing and unpacking your belongings for you, make sure that your boxes are properly taped, labeled, and ready to move when Royal arrives. In addition, Royal will be happy to disassemble furniture that will not fit through your doors and remove doors if required, but if you are looking to cut costs, you could do those things before Royal arrives.

Royal’s professional movers should handle the job entirely. They are experienced and have the equipment necessary for a quick and efficient move, including loading the truck properly. Friends and family who “help” usually slow down the process and make the move more costly in the end. Your friends and family are most helpful to you during the preparation, which might include packing and disassembling furniture.

While tipping is completely up to the client’s discretion, if you are fully satisfied with your moving crew’s performance, we recommend tipping 15-20% of a move’s total or $10 per person per hour.

Yes, label all of your boxes and belongings to ensure they end up in the room where you want them to go. A simple labeling process is sufficient, such as “Kitchen”, “Living Room”, “Garage”, and “Master Bedroom”. Label your boxes on the tops and sides.

Your dressers and generally all the furniture should be empty before your move to ensure their safe and proper transport. If you upgraded your moving quote with us and requested full packing service, please leave this part of the job to our moving crew!

You cannot ship jewelry or important documents with us. We do not move these items and are not responsible for them if they are packed without our knowledge. We recommend that you pack your jewelry and important documents separately, keep them secure while your home is open during the move, and transport them yourself to your new location.

Professional moving companies cannot transport hazardous or combustible items such as propane tanks, firearms, paint, and aerosols, which can ignite and explode in hot trucks.

We own and operate a large fleet of commercial moving trucks, mostly 26-foot trucks, which allows us to handle moves of any size.

For liability reasons, customers cannot ride in the truck while their belongings are being transported to their new home. You can follow us, though, or lead the way.

Our moving crew typically does not take lunch breaks during your move. However, if your move is large and requires over six hours of work, the foreman will communicate any breaks to you.

Royal Moving ensures that no clutter is left behind during the moving process, but we do not provide general cleaning services.
