A business move is judged on one thing a home move is not: downtime. Every hour your office, store, kitchen, or facility is not operating is a cost. We plan commercial moves across LA around your schedule, working evenings and weekends where it keeps you open, so the move happens between business and not instead of it.
For a business, the cost of a move is not just the moving bill. It is the revenue lost while you are closed and the productivity lost while staff cannot work. We plan around both.
Moving a business is a different job from moving a home.
A commercial move has stakeholders a home move does not: employees who need to work the next morning, customers who expect you open, a landlord and a building with access rules and certificate of insurance requirements, and equipment that has to be disconnected and reconnected in the right order. The plan matters as much as the muscle, and the timing is often the whole game.
Royal Moving & Storage handles commercial moves across Los Angeles for businesses of every size and type. We plan the move around your operating hours, provide certificates of insurance for your building, coordinate the disconnect and reconnect of your systems, and get you operational at the new location on schedule. Transparent pricing, USDOT #3617767, and specialist crews matched to your type of business.
Commercial moving is not one service. A restaurant kitchen, a data center, and an open-plan office each demand a different plan and a different crew. Find your type of business below for the dedicated LA service that handles it.
Four stages built around keeping your business running, with the move timed to your operating schedule.
01
On-site survey
We walk your current space and the destination, catalog what moves, identify equipment that needs specialist handling, and confirm building access and COI requirements at both ends.
02
Downtime plan
We build the move around your operating hours, scheduling the work for evenings, weekends, or a planned closure window, and sequence the disconnect and reconnect of your systems.
03
The move
The crew executes the plan in the agreed window, with furniture and equipment padded, labeled, and placed to a floor plan at the new location so nothing has to be sorted out on the first day back.
04
Open for business
Systems reconnected, workstations and equipment in place, and the new location ready to operate when your team arrives. The move happened in the gap, not on the clock.
A residential crew moves your stuff. A commercial crew keeps you open.
Hiring a general residential mover for a business move is where the downtime, the building problems, and the equipment damage come from.
A General Residential Mover
Moves boxes, not a business
No downtime plan; the move runs into your operating hours

Every lost hour is your revenue, not theirs

Moving your business in Los Angeles?
Tell us your business type and where you are moving. We will scope the job, build a plan around your downtime, and give you a transparent quote with the full cost up front.
1. Can you move our business after hours or over a weekend?
Yes, and for most commercial moves that is the goal. We plan the move around your operating hours, scheduling the work for evenings, a weekend, or a planned closure window so the move happens while you are closed and you are operational again when your team returns. We build the schedule from your hours, not ours.
2. Do you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?
Yes. Most commercial buildings in LA require a certificate of insurance from the mover before granting loading dock or freight elevator access, often naming the building management as an additional insured. Send us your building’s requirements when you book and we will provide the certificate ahead of the move. Our COI services page covers this in detail.
3. What kinds of businesses do you move?
Offices of every size, retail stores, restaurants and food service, warehouses and industrial facilities, medical and laboratory spaces, and data centers, among others. Different business types need different handling, so we match the crew and the plan to your business. The business types section above links to the dedicated LA service for each, and if your business does not fit neatly into one, a specialist will scope it with you.
4. Can you handle disconnecting and reconnecting our IT and equipment?
We coordinate the disconnect and reconnect as part of the move plan and sequence it so systems come back up in the right order. For specialized equipment, such as server racks, lab instruments, or medical devices, we work alongside your IT team or the equipment vendor where their involvement is required, and our specialist crews handle the physical move. The goal is for your systems to be back online when your team returns.
5. How far in advance should we book a commercial move?
The earlier the better, particularly for larger moves or those needing a specific weekend window. Earlier booking gives time for the on-site survey, the downtime plan, the building COI process, and coordinating any specialist equipment handling. That said, we handle tighter timelines too, so contact us with your target date and we will tell you what is possible.
