Getting to Know La Habra
How La Habra Sits
La Habra is at the far northwest corner of Orange County, on the Los Angeles County line. It covers about 7 square miles and is home to roughly 60,000 people. Whittier and La Habra Heights sit to the north and west in Los Angeles County, Brea lies to the east, and Fullerton is to the south.
Imperial Highway, also known as SR-90, and Harbor Boulevard are the main arteries through the city. The SR-57 freeway runs just east, giving quick access to the rest of North County and the 91.
La Habra is mostly residential. Downtown holds the older commercial core and civic buildings. The La Habra Marketplace anchors the shopping along Imperial. Around them spread blocks of mid-century homes, a few older bungalow streets, and newer townhome pockets.
From Citrus Country to a Suburban City
The name La Habra comes from the Spanish for the pass, marking the gap through the hills that linked the area to the wider region. The land was citrus and avocado country, and the surrounding hills helped launch the Hass avocado that is now grown worldwide.
La Habra was incorporated in 1925 and grew into a residential suburb as Orange County filled in after the war. Today, it keeps a small-city feel, with a historic downtown, a popular children’s museum in the old train depot, and a steady, family-centered housing market.
What a La Habra Move Actually Involves
Access in La Habra is mostly about older neighborhoods. Many homes sit on narrow lots with short driveways and on-street parking, and mature trees can limit where a large truck fits. We check the street ahead of time and bring a right-sized truck so the carry stays short and safe.
Apartments and condos along Imperial Highway and Harbor Boulevard sometimes sit in managed buildings that ask for a reserved move window and proof of insurance. We confirm the slot with management and file the paperwork before move day.
The weather is mild, so the main factors are traffic on Imperial and Harbor and the short trips across the county line. Whittier, Brea, and Fullerton are all close, and we plan the route to keep those quick moves efficient.
Long-distance moves out of La Habra often follow a job or a family change. We provide itemized invoices, certificates of insurance set up for HR, and written estimates in the formats companies expect. One crew carries the shipment the entire way.
