1. How much does it cost to move an apartment?
Local apartment moves are priced by crew size and hours, and the building drives a lot of that: a fifth-floor walk-up takes longer than a ground-floor unit with a loading dock. Long-distance moves are priced by weight and mileage. We quote after a walkthrough so the floor, stairs, and access are in the number, and you see the full price before move day.
2. Can you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?
Yes. Many apartment buildings and HOAs require a certificate of insurance naming the property before they will let movers in. Send us the building’s requirements when you book and we file the COI ahead of time, so the crew is not turned away at the door on move day.
3. Do you handle walk-ups with no elevator?
Yes, and flights of stairs are one of the biggest things we plan for. Tell us the floor and whether there is an elevator on the estimate, since a third or fourth-floor walk-up needs more crew and more time than the same unit on the ground floor. Getting it right up front keeps the price from changing on the day.
4. What if my sofa will not fit through the door or stairwell?
It happens often in older buildings with narrow stairwells and tight door frames. Where we can, we take the piece apart, remove the legs or a door, and rebuild it in the new unit. Flag any oversized furniture on the estimate so we bring the tools and the headcount to handle it instead of finding out in the stairwell.
5. How long does an apartment move take?
A studio or one-bedroom that is packed and ready often takes a few hours; a larger unit, a high floor, or a long carry from the truck to the door adds time. If we are packing for you, the packing crew usually comes the day before. The walkthrough is what pins down the real number for your building.
