Cupertino is one of the most sought-after addresses in Silicon Valley, and that changes the shape of a move here. Homes hold years of belongings and often valuable pieces. Schedules are tight because so many residents work long hours in tech. Streets near the major campuses and shopping centers carry heavy traffic for much of the day. A good move here is planned carefully around all of it.
The west side of the city climbs toward the foothills, where streets narrow, and homes sit on sloped lots. Closer to the center, you find established neighborhoods of ranch homes and Eichlers, along with newer, larger houses and modern townhomes near Main Street. Each type of home asks for a different approach.
Royal Moving & Storage works across Cupertino every week. We study the address first, plan for the traffic, the access, and the kind of home you have, and arrange parking and timing before the day arrives. The result is a move that stays calm and on schedule, even in a busy part of the valley.
Cupertino is a city in Santa Clara County, covering about eleven square miles on the western edge of Silicon Valley. It is home to roughly 60,000 people and sits next to Sunnyvale, Saratoga, Los Altos, and San Jose. It is known across the region for its schools and as the home of one of the world’s largest technology companies.
The city runs from flat, established neighborhoods in the east to the foothills in the west. Closer to the center, you find ranch homes, Eichler tracts, and newer large houses, along with modern townhomes and apartments near Main Street, Cupertino, and the Vallco site. As the land rises toward the west, streets narrow, and homes sit on larger, sloped lots near open space.
Cupertino also has wide green spaces, including Rancho San Antonio Preserve and Blackberry Farm, along with De Anza College near the center of town. Major roads like Stevens Creek Boulevard and De Anza Boulevard carry much of the daily traffic and tie the city together.
The land was home to the Ohlone people for thousands of years before Spanish explorers passed through in the 1770s. They named a nearby creek after Saint Joseph of Cupertino, and the name eventually settled on the wider area. Through the nineteenth century, the land was farmed, and orchards and vineyards spread across the valley floor.
For decades, Cupertino was fruit country, covered in blossoming orchards each spring. That began to change after the Second World War, as families moved in and the orchards were replaced by neighborhoods. Cupertino incorporated as a city in 1955 as this growth took hold.
In the decades that followed, technology reshaped the city. Apple was founded in the area and built its campuses here, including the large ring-shaped headquarters that opened in recent years. Today, Cupertino blends quiet residential streets with a central role in the modern technology industry.
Cupertino is its own city, and its roads and neighborhoods shape every move. Traffic is the first thing to plan around. Stevens Creek Boulevard, De Anza Boulevard, and the streets near the major campuses can be slow for much of the day, so we time the move to avoid the worst of it where we can.
The hillside neighborhoods on the west side bring their own challenges. Streets are narrower there, and homes often sit above the road with steep driveways and long approaches to the door. We check the access in advance and choose the right truck size so nothing gets stuck or slowed on the way in.
Many Cupertino homes are large and hold valuable furniture, electronics, and art. We bring enough crew and the right materials to protect all of it, and we agree on a handling plan for fragile pieces before the day. Townhomes and condos near the center add shared access and HOA move-in rules, which we coordinate ahead of time. Planning the traffic, the access, and the protection in advance is what keeps a Cupertino move on schedule.
Beyond Cupertino, our crews cover San Jose, the South Bay, and communities right across Silicon Valley.
