Sometimes the move is one sofa, one armoire, one slab dining table that four friends should not be carrying down the stairs. We move single pieces and full sets with pads, wrap, and the right equipment, so nothing gets dropped, scratched, or wedged in a stairwell. One piece or a roomful, it gets the same wrapping and the same trained hands.
Blankets, stretch wrap, and corner protection on every item, with the floors and doorways covered first.
Heavy, Awkward, and Worth Protecting
Not every job is a whole house. Maybe you bought a sectional that will not fit through the door without a plan, inherited a heavy hutch, or need a piano-adjacent piece carried down three flights. Royal Moving & Storage handles single-item and small-load furniture moves with the same protection and the same trained crews we bring to a full move, sized to the piece instead of the house. Austin's mix of century-old central bungalows and brand-new high-rises means the same sectional that slid into one home has to be hoisted into the next, and we plan for both.
We pad and wrap every item, protect the floors and door frames along the path, and bring dollies, straps, and the muscle to handle weight and angles safely. Tight Austin staircases, narrow bungalow doorways, and high-rise elevators are all part of the planning. The price is flat and in writing, whether it is one piece across town or a room's worth across the metro. If a piece needs hoisting through a window or balcony because the stairwell will not take it, we plan that too.
Six reasons the one-piece move is worth doing right.
Full Wrapping
Blankets, stretch wrap, and corner guards on every piece, not just the obvious ones.
Path Protection
Floor runners and door-frame pads down before the piece moves, so the house survives too.
The Right Equipment
Dollies, straps, shoulder dollies, and hoisting know-how for weight and awkward angles. For tight central Austin bungalows, we measure the path before the truck is even loaded.
Tight-Space Skill
Narrow doorways, switchback stairs, and elevators planned, not forced. Sectionals, bed frames, and table legs come apart and go back together at the new spot.
Flat Pricing
One written number for the piece or the small load, no hourly surprises.
Trained Hands
The same careful crews from our full moves, sized to a smaller job. The same trained crew that handles full moves handles your single piece.
Our furniture crews deliver and relocate pieces across the metro, from central Austin walk-ups to homes in Round Rock, Cedar Park, and the Hill Country. Showroom and estate-sale pickups are routine, with delivery scheduled to your day.
1. How much does it cost to move one piece of furniture in Austin?
Single-item moves are priced flat by the piece, the access, and the distance, often a modest minimum. Send a photo and the two addresses and we will quote it in writing.
2. Can you get a large sofa through a tight doorway or up stairs?
Usually yes. We plan the path, sometimes hoist or partially disassemble, and bring the equipment to do it safely. If a piece truly will not fit, we will tell you before move day, not during. We carry door and stair measurements into the plan so there are no surprises at the threshold.
3. Do you protect the furniture and the house?
Both. Every piece is wrapped and padded, and floors and door frames along the path are protected before the carry begins.
4. Will you reassemble a piece that comes apart?
Yes. If we take legs or sections off to move it safely, we put it back together and place it where you want it.
5. Can you move a piece into or out of storage?
Yes, including into our own secure storage. We can hold a single piece until your room or new home is ready.
6. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Royal Moving & Storage operates under Texas DOT #010072391C with full cargo and liability coverage on every furniture move. Pieces can go straight into our secure storage and come back out on a later delivery, all on one inventory.
7. Do you move pianos and other specialty items?
Pianos have their own dedicated service given the weight and the delicacy. For gun safes, pool tables, and similar heavy specialty pieces, just ask and we will scope it.
