Larchmont is defined by the single strip of Larchmont Boulevard, which is lined with wide sidewalks parking, coffee shops, toy stores, luxury boutiques, trendy eateries, a dog bakery, a Chipotle, and a Rite Aid pharmacy.
It also has a great independent bookstore, which fits rather well in the “bookish” and “indie” setting of Larchmont. Chevalier’s Books opened in 1940, and it is one of Larchmont Village’s oldest businesses, and one of Los Angeles’ oldest independent bookstores. You will also find the Larchmont Village Farmers Market, which is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is located at the public parking lot on the west side of Larchmont Boulevard. In 1921, Julian Labonte established Larchmont Village as part of a mini suburban sprawl from Downtown L.A.
