Newcastle in Context
Newcastle by the Numbers
Newcastle is a small unincorporated community in Placer County, set in the Sierra foothills along Interstate 80 between Sacramento and Auburn. Once a major fruit-shipping center, it remains a rural foothill community of larger parcels, old packing sheds, and Gold Country history.
The Newcastle Story
Newcastle made its name as a fruit-packing and shipping hub, where foothill orchards sent pears and other crops out by rail during the Gold Country era. The old packing sheds still line the railroad and highway corridor, and the community keeps its rural, small-town character among the oak-dotted foothills. It is a quieter, more spread-out place than the valley cities below.
What Moving Day Looks Like in Newcastle
A Newcastle move means foothill terrain and rural access, with longer driveways, gravel approaches, and bigger parcels that we plan the truck and crew around. The Interstate 80 corridor ties the community to Sacramento and Auburn, and we build the longer drive into the schedule. Summers run warm in the foothills, so we start early.
On foothill parcels, crews confirm whether the truck can reach the house or whether a shuttle handles a long gravel drive. We plan the run along Interstate 80 so the longer distance to and from the Newcastle area never throws off the schedule.
