Belmont in Context
Belmont by the Numbers
Belmont is a mid-Peninsula city in San Mateo County, set between San Mateo and San Carlos, with roughly 28,000 residents. Much of the city rises into hills above the bay, with Water Dog Lake and wooded open space at its back and Notre Dame de Namur University near its center.
The Belmont Story
Belmont took shape around the grand estate of banker William Ralston, whose Ralston Hall still stands on the university campus. Twin Pines Park occupies part of the old estate grounds, and newer homes climb the hillsides on winding lanes. It is a green, hilly town that trades flat convenience for views and trees.
What Moving Day Looks Like in Belmont
The Belmont hills set the pace. Streets switchback, driveways tilt, and the door is often well above or below where a truck can park, so we plan the carry and the parking in advance. On the tightest lanes, we shuttle items down to the truck with a smaller vehicle. Homes near campus add some apartment turnover to the mix.
Wet-weather days on the wooded Belmont slopes can make steep driveways slick, so crews plan footing and timing carefully. For hillside condos and the apartments near the university, we confirm elevator access and loading zones in advance.
