Moving to Diamond Bar? Here is what you can expect once you get to Diamond Bar.

Diamond Bar is located in southern California, and the city borders Chino Hills, Industry, Pomona, and Rowland Heights. Like all of the communities in Southern California, the history of Diamond Bar began with a Spanish land grant. In 1840, Jose de la Luz Linares was one of the area's first settlers. He founded Rancho Los Nogales, which means "Ranch of the Walnut Trees." The ranch was located on 4,340 acres that was granted to him by the governor of Mexican, Juan Alvarado. Along with a portion of land that would become Diamond Bar Ranch, the grant also included Brea Canyon and eastern Walnut Valley. However, Diamond Bar Ranch would not be founded until 1918 by Frederick E. Lewis II.

In 1956, the area very much like it did in 1840, with golden hills and groves of oak and walnut trees, along with great herds of grazing cattle. In 1840, the Transamerica Corporation bought 8,000 acres of the Brea Canyon for $10 million from the Bartholome family with huge plan to build Southern California's biggest master-planned community. They named name it Diamond Bar, and first homes were built at the north end of town in 1960, as a development "boom" began. However, the community would not be incorporated until April 18, 1989. Today, the city of Diamond Bar has a population of 56,456 residents. It is located at the crossroads of the Orange, 57, and Pomona, 60, freeways on the edge of eastern Los Angeles County.

The size of the open land allowed for pre-planning of amenities that enabled the marketing of a community that provided a bucolic lifestyle. Claiming the history of the ranch that once occupied the space, the Diamond Bar cattle brand, which is a diamond bisected by a bar, provided the logo for the town along with the motto "Country Living," and the houses and lots were big in this bedroom community.

The median age of the residents of the city of Diamond Bar is 42.2, they have a median household income of $89,845. The population of Diamond Bar consists of a citizenry that is 53.1 percent Asian, 19.8 percent White, and 19.5 percent Hispanic. The median property value in Diamond Bar is $593,100, with a homeownership rate of 76.4 percent.
